SCAM ALLERT!!!
I got charge on my bank account for the transfer that I did not start. It says that the receiver is my mother and receiver country is Spain, where my mom never been before. Anyway, it also says that money is picked up and when I called customer support they told me that someone change the receivers name and they just provided me with the name of the person I never heard before. They did not have any reasonable explanation how me as a sender can't see the real receivers name. Of course I am not stopping here, I will fail a claim to every possible institution until I have money money back. I have all the proofs on my side that I did not start the transfer, that the name of the receiver doesn't match on my end ext.

Western Union would not refund a $200 money order. They say it was cashed, but wait a minute, I have the money order IN MY HAND. It was never cashed. I've lost $200 to them. Hope they find a nice restaurant. Oh, called them 10-15 times using 4 different 800 numbers, always a 30 minute hold. Dealing with the cust serv is like talking to children.

My friend has been trying to get help from them regarding a money order issue and has been flat out told that they can't help her. Seems to be because she lives in Canada, she can't even file an online report of the issue because the online form won't let her put in a postal code instead of a zip code. Then they emailed her the forms and told her to submit them through the mail, which she did and paid for tracked mail so she knows it was received, when she called to check they told her that they couldn't help her because she didn't use the online form (which they told her not to use). Now it's months later and nothing is resolved and she has to constantly check in to get updates on the situation.

Money order for $500 refund request placed on 6/8/24 (which was to take 30 days) still has not been received after numerous calls to their 800 number. I called the 720 number listed THREE times and was disconnected each time…never spoke to a rep. They have a 1star rating on BBB and are not accredited . DO NOT USE WESTERN UNION!!

This company is extremely unprofessional. They changed the recipient account number without my knowledge, and when I called customer service to request a Refund They never respond. I called almost 20 times. It’s just a fraud company be aware .

I am very disappointed with Western Union service. My family in Jamaica had an urgent need for money. So, I used Western Union’s ‘send money in minutes’ service to send the money, which was immediately deducted from my bank account, along with the associated fees. I was notified that the funds were ready for pickup but when the recipient went to collect the money, the Western Union agent in Jamaica refused to release the funds. They told the recipient, that this was a lot of money and that the recipient needed to justify why they are receiving the money! A verbal justification was apparently not good enough because the recipient was asked to provide DOCUMENTATION that what they are saying was true!!

As this is an urgent matter, the next day I decided to get a refund and send the money another way.
Well, Western Union agreed to refund my money, but stated that I would receive in 5-7 business days! Wait, what? They took the money within minutes, but will not give it back for days? What am I expected to do in this situation? I asked the agent to escalate and get me a supervisor because I need my money back ASAP. He informed me that the supervisor will tell me the same thing, then proceeded to put me on HOLD indefinitely. I have been using Western Union for years, but after this experience, I will not use their service again and would not recommend them.
